Oakland Digital’s Social Media for Small Business
I attended Oakland Digital’s Social Media for Small Business conference today. This is what I learned:
Constant Contact’s Michael Neuendorff suggested how to use Facebook likes to grow your business. He suggested that you offer exclusive content, such as “50 Tips for…” or the first pages of your ebook in exchange for likes. He explained how you can pin to the top your offer to like your page and discussed “virality” resulting from fans sharing your posts.
Steve Grove from Google discussed some new programs from Google+Local to elicit discussions about your businesses. He suggested you put a Google+ badge on your site and register with Google Places. Grove showed a video demonstrating Hangouts with President Obama engaged in a multi-person video chat with individuals.
